2018 Evanston Bluegrass Festival

The 2018 Evanston Bluegrass Festival is a two-day festival held at beautiful and historic Depot Square in downtown Evanston, Wyoming. This year's festival will be held on Friday, June 22nd from 5:30pm 10pm and Saturday, June 23rd from noon to midnight.

We have new, exciting features this year. We will kick off the festival on Friday evening with a house concert and dinner in the Beeman Cashin building. The audience will enjoy an interactive event filled with music and storytelling in a comfortable, intimate environment with "An Evening with Whippoorwill with special guest Ridge Gilmour."

On Saturday, the festival moves to the lawn and performers will entertain the audience from the professional outdoor stage. A diverse group of award winning bluegrass musicians have been selected to perform this year. Their styles range from traditional bluegrass, Celtic bluegrass to progressive bluegrass. The Barton Hills Choir with special guest David Gans, The Good Time Travelers, Lanie Lou & The Bird Dogs, Wild Mountain, Nu Blu and headliner, The Barefoot Movement are among the lineup for 2017. New this year is a Reggae After Party featuring Pato Banton and Band, featuring uplifting music and dance. Music from these nationally and regionally acclaimed bands will fill the air in this beautiful, and uniquely Evanston, setting. Artist's, from jewelry makers, to basket weavers and painters, will be selling their wares. And, of course, there will be food booths to satisfy every taste and a beer and wine garden serving handcrafted microbrews, domestic beers and wine throughout the day.

The festival is a fundraiser for Bluegrass Evanston's Global and Local Educational Initiative and provides entertainment for the whole family. Bluegrass Evanston, the sponsoring organization, is a 501c3 charitable organization whose purpose is to produce an annual regional bluegrass festival to raise money for its educational initiative: To provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged children living in impoverished areas around the world and in our own community and, advancing a culture of caring, awareness and empathy about global issues within our schools and community. We do this with the added intention of promoting cultural tourism and economic development within our community.
