Description: Juried fine art show, invitational fine craft show. Over 1500 people attend this annual event. Events include the arts and craft shows, musical performances, artist quick draw and auction, opening night reception, other entertainment and childrens art workshop. Sponsored by the Platte Valley Arts Council, this 16th annual arts festival features the talents of the regions top artists and crafters in a juried art show and invitational craft show. Activities also include various musical performances, cowboy poetry and storytelling, a barbecue, Artist Quick Draw and auction, Independence Day parade, "Wild West Shoot-out", a Childrens Art Show, fireworks and a general all-around good time. EntertainmentThe PVAC hosts community choirs and local musicians as well as regional performers of bluegrass, Celtic, cowboy and folk genres. Other musical entertainment is provided through the Saratoga Historical and Cultural Association and performed at their outdoor pavilion Saturday evening.
ActivitiesFun for the whole family, the popular Childrens Art Workshop offers children an opportunity to try sculpting clay, painting with acrylics, watercolors and pastels. Volunteers guiding children include art teachers and volunteer art students. Craft shows are indoor, juried art show is limited to 15 artists.

Event/Application Rules and Regulations
ART SHOW
• Application deadline is May 1, 2007 and must include:
o Completed entry form, signed and dated.
o Two separate checks ($125 for booth fee, $25 for non-refundable jury fee).
o Slides or CD (.jpg) of your three juried pieces.
o Brief resume and photograph of yourself for promotional materials. Late submittals will not be included in festival program.
o Photograph of booth display.
• Artist will be notified of acceptance by May 15.
• Artist must be present during the show and are responsible for their work while on display.
• All juried work must be original.
• All juried pieces must be for sale and are subject to 30% commission payable to PVAC.
• Artist will retain 100% of sales (except for three juried entries) and are responsible for all monetary transactions including sales tax (5% in Carbon County).
• All flat work must be framed and sculptures must be on pedestals or free standing.
• Artist will supply own booth, tables, drapes, lighting, decorative accents, sculpture pedestals, etc.
CRAFT SHOW
• Application deadline is June 1, 2007 and must include:
o Completed entry form, signed and dated.
o $75 check for booth fee (non-refundable).
o Two or three photographs, slides or CD (.jpg) of your craft.
o Brief resume and photograph of yourself for promotional materials. Late submittals will not be included in festival program
o Photograph of booth display.
• Crafter will be notified of acceptance by June 15.
• Crafter must be present during the show and are responsible for their work while on display.
• Work must be of original design; no kits.
• Crafter will retain 100% of sales and are responsible for all monetary transactions including sales tax (5% in Carbon County).
• Crafter will supply own booth, tables, drapes, lighting, decorative accents, sculpture pedestals, etc.
• Booth size is 10’ x 10’ and double booths are available.
• No early tear down of booths
